Ditch the Cookie Cutter Solutions
When I begin any client engagement, I take a consultative approach. I listen to uncover how you feel, what’s driving your current challenge, and what you are dreaming to accomplish (whether or not you think it is possible to bring it into reality!) Getting to the source of the matter requires building rapport and an excitement for working together. From there, I create a tailored and custom program. This will be based on a few key elements: building awareness of your strengths and opportunities for leadership development, creating stretch goals to reach your highest current potential, and discovering how you soak in new knowledge. I do this by incorporating adult-learning theory and taking an educational approach. I leverage my background as an Occupational Therapist, my PhD in Organization Performance and Change, my coaching certification, and my knowledge of various assessments. And my toolkit is always growing, because I am committed to growing and learning, just like you!
My services fall into three categories: coaching, leadership development and facilitation, and consulting. I often work at multiple levels at the same time, such as running a leadership development program and coaching each leader on the team. Sometimes I just work with an individual who is looking for a change in their own life. Whatever the program components, I will approach our work together as a collaborative partnership, taking a facilitative approach.
What Makes Pure Courage Different
There are a lot of coaches and consultants out there. What I offer is caring compassion combined with an accountability punch. I often use the metaphors of train cars- if your ultimate goal is to get to the front of the train- how do we work together to advance you five cars forward? My process is to have you create a compelling vision and then take action steps to get there. I will challenge you to achieve your desired outcomes. If you really want to grow, if you are faced with a new demands in your business or personal development, or are gearing up to rise to any occasion, I may be just the right partner for you!

Coaching
I’ve coached over 700 leaders from C-suite executives to high potential leaders to those going through big life transitions. My strength is helping people reach their maximum potential.
For all of my clients, I start with some form of current-state analysis. This is often a 360 assessment, a personal SWOT analysis, the Wheel of Life reflection, or an assessment such as the MBTI, FIRO-B, Enneagram. I then work with clients over an extended period of time, often year-long engagements, to achieve their goals.
“Her ability to unblock, guide, and help me move forward against my goals encapsulated exactly what I look for in a coach.”
Leadership Development
I’ve conducted over 50 leadership development programs at both large and small organizations. Cohorts typically include 8-14 people and run for 12-15 months. For each program, I design custom content that meets the specific needs of the team. I have taught hundreds of graduate level courses and I design my leadership development trainings the same way. They are rich in content, employing the use of adult learning best practices. My goal is to have clients engage with and apply leadership content to their daily work and personal development.
In addition to leadership development, I also facilitate a wide range of meetings and retreats. These include leadership strategy sessions, board meetings, and leaders who are striving to create healthier and more productive dynamics between pairs or triads.

Consulting
I have served as a thought partner and consultant in a wide variety of capacities. As a consultant, I help people who are responsible for driving business outcomes enhance the effectiveness of their programs and strategy.
One of my specialities is conducting evaluations and needs assessments. I can help determine what is working and what needs to be changed. My unique strength is my ability to see both the high level strategy as well as the details of how to operationalize a new initiative.
“Rachel's gift is challenging leaders to think differently in order to improve organizational performance and drive tangible results.”
